Introducing "Backyard Birds: A Beginner's Guide to Backyard Birds in Southwestern Ontario" by Megan Switzer and Paul Roedding. We are so excited to be able to offer you a chance to meet the authors and get your own copy of this amazing cover. Author info: Paul Roedding is a Southwestern Ontario based nature lover and photographer. His images appear in several field guides and major publications including Bird Watcher's Digest, MacLean's, and Algonquin Life. He believes no image is worth compromising the well-being of the animal and when photographing wildlife lives by the old adage: "If my behaviour changes their behaviour, then I am too close." Megan Switzer is an author from Southwestern Ontario. She is a two time winner of the Lawson Literary Award, winning both fiction and non-fiction pieces. She has a love of nature, with a growing collection of samples gathered herself, ranging from eggshells to seashells, and feathers to fossils. Have you ever wondered how a Northern Cardinal gets its bright red feathers or what kind of woodpecker is making holes in your trees? It's time to get to know the birds living in your backyard. With beautiful photographs of each bird taken by Paul Roedding of Paul Roedding Photography and vivid descriptions written by Megan Switzer, you will quickly learn how to identify twenty-four different species of songbird, how to attract each of them to your yard or where to find them in the wild. New birders will discover the terminology to describe the birds they are seeing, as well as several interesting facts about local wildlife. Once you learn to identify these birds, record your own bird sightings with the convenient checklist in the back of the book!
